Nextiva Review – Is Nextiva Good? Read Nextiva Reviews

by admin on July 30, 2011

While doing my research and comparing business VoIP companies, I stumbled across Nextiva.  They are located in Scottsdale, Arizona and according to my research they are one of the fastest growing service providers. Nextiva’s phone service is based on VoIP technology and is used by businesses throughout the country. Below is a breakdown of my experience with Nextiva within a 30 day period. As Nextiva promoted the concept of Amazing Service and being the top rated service provider when I first spoke with them, I’ve found that this is true. I have been happy with Nextiva and would recommend their service.

Ordering Process: Review Rating. A

I used Nextiva’s Website to request a quote around 11:15 A.M.  By 11:20, my phone was ringing with a Nextiva salesman on the other end.  The sales representative i spoke with was not pushy and was really trying to establish a connection with me.  He asked me some questions about the business I would be setting up so he could better understand my needs.  While on the phone with him, he was able to build a quote and email it to me to discuss while still on the phone.  I called back later on to have some questions answered and to test how quickly they answered their calls and it was answered within seconds.

Pricing: Review Rating. A-

Nextiva’s Pricing is set at a great price with the unlimited calling and all of the complementary additional features.  Nextiva runs their business on a month-to-month payment plan so you are not locked down to a contract.  You are able to cancel service anytime with out a penalty fee.  Nextiva does not have any hidden fees or setup costs.  The only costs to set up a VoIP plan with Nextiva is purchasing VoIP phone’s, although Nextiva does not require that you purchase phones from them.  You can purchase any VoIP-compatible phone from any source that you choose.  Nextiva does offer great pricing on phones, but if you can purchase elsewhere for less, you will not be penalized. Make sure to purchase phones that are unlocked (SIP phones that can be used with “open” providers).

Features: Review Rating. A

Nextiva’s Business VoIP features range from using your old phone number, voicemail to email service, and auto-attendant.  The list of features seems like it is never ending and they are all included at no extra cost!  Two Notable Features are the auto-attendant and E911.  Auto-attendant eliminates the need for someone to pick up the phone and redirect the call to the phone line of choice therefor making your business more efficient.  the other notable feature is the E911 feature or Enhance 911 service.  Nextiva stores your customer information and in case of an emergency, the nearest public safety answering point (PSAP) is given your information to save you time.  By no means are these the only two features.

Service Quality: Review Rating. A+

The service quality at Nextiva is phenomenal.  The sound quality is no different compared to a landline and is exceptional all the time.  There was no cutting in or out and no static on the line.

Reliability: Review Rating. A+

After doing some research on Nextiva and actively reading Internet reviews, I did not find one review that said they were dissatisfied due to unreliable service.  Unlike other small business VoIP providers that frequently have downed servers, that that is never the case with Nextiva.  They have three different data centers just in case one is to fail so customers can always able to use their VoIP phones. Additionally, I’ve been told that they have a proprietary technology that tests their clients’ network every 60 seconds. If a Nextiva client loses their Internet connection, their phone numbers would automatically forward to a backup line (for example, a cell phone).

Customer Service: Review Rating. A

Nextiva’s Customer service representatives were very friendly and helpful.  The customer service team is right down the hall from the sales team, not in another country.  You will always speak with someone in the Nextiva Building in Scottsdale, Arizona.  The customer service team is very motivated to help with any issues you may have incurred.  They are not troubleshooting off of a script and are very good at what they do.  They all are knowledgeable in VoIP phone systems and can help with any problem a customer may have.  Another great positive about Nextiva is the call wait time was never longer than two minutes.

Cons:

At first, Nextiva’s service was not working properly.  I spent a few minutes with the customer support and they were able to fix my problem.  The problem was the network settings on my end.  They said this occasionally but is a very easy fix. One more con is Nextiva cannot support customers in Canada.  Luckily, I don’t have a business operations outside the United States. However if I did, Nextiva would be unable to deliver phone service. Nextiva being unable to deliver service to Canada can cause problems or trigger complaints. While Nextiva problems and Nextiva complaints are uncommon occurences, people may be displeased if they were searching for a Canadian business phone service provider. The reason Nextiva cannot provide service to businesses located in Canada, is because of E911 Service.  Nextiva does not have the capability to connect the phone to the PSAP.  That is not to say you cannot call Canada.  There is unlimited long distance to Canada with no extra charge.
